Step-by-Step Guide to Activate QuarkXPress (Current Versions: 2024–2026+) Both online and offline versions.
Install QuarkXPress Download and install the software from the official site:
- Go to https://www.quark.com
- Use your purchase download link, or visit the support installers page if you have active maintenance/subscription: https://www.quark.com/support/installers/

Offline Version:
Once Purchased you will need the Serial Number of the License and a Quark online account to get the certificate to activate the software . Once you have that you can download the program and install direct from Quark website.

Quark Help file for offline activation don’t explain you need the machine in question when you open quark (once installed) to be offline otherwise it will go straight to the online activation mentioned below. With your machine offline it gives you the option to use the other activation options (offline version)
Input your serial number given from the software distribution when you purchased the software.
Click Generate the certificate.
You will need notepad to cut and past that text in that box, save it and send it to Quark on a support ticket. You should be able to login within your quark account or create an account to raise the ticket. https://quarksoftware.my.site.com/s/login
Send them the notepad file in your ticket and wait for their response. They usually issue the activation license code very quickly from the request. The activation button will then not be grey out so you can license the machines software. Quark help file link
Online Version Activation:
Check Your Email for Welcome Message After purchase (perpetual license or subscription), Quark sends a welcome email with:
- Your login credentials (username/email and password)
- A link to the web-based licensing console (myaccount.quark.com)
- Instructions to complete email-based activation
If you purchased through academic pricing or a reseller, follow any additional verification steps (e.g., via Identité for students/teachers).
Launch QuarkXPress Open the application on your computer (Windows or macOS). The Product Activation dialog should appear automatically on first launch.
Select Product Configuration
- Choose QuarkXPress (for standard desktop publishing version).
- (There may be a “QuarkXPress Business” option for specific editions—select based on your license.)
Sign In with Your Credentials.
- Click Continue or Sign In.
- Enter the email/username and password from your welcome email.
- The software connects to Quark’s servers to verify and activate your license.
- No validation code is needed in recent versions—it’s all account-based.
Complete Activation
- Once signed in successfully, activation completes in seconds.
- You now have full access.
- For subscriptions or multi-user licenses, you can manage activations (e.g., deactivate on one device to free the license) via:
- In-app: Help menu (Windows) or QuarkXPress menu (macOS) → Manage Account (redirects to myaccount.quark.com).
- Directly: Log in at https://myaccount.quark.com.
